RALLIES 2022
Rallies are the backbone to the Pony Club.
Members are encouraged to attend as many rallies as possible where they will learn more about their ponies and improve their riding. It is also a great opportunity to meet up with other Members and have a bit of fun.
Members will be notified by text of upcoming rallies and bookings can be made through itsplainsailing on the home page of the website. This information will also be on the website.
Rallies need to be booked at least a week in advance to ensure that we can book sufficient Instructors to give our Members the best instruction.
Members should arrive 20 minutes before to be ready to go out and ride at their dedicated time.
All levels and standards are catered for.
All rallies are subject to weather conditions so please check our website the day before you travel. Texts will also be sent out if we need to cancel.
Booking In:
You must be booked in ONE WEEK in advance of the date of the rally. It is not our policy to disappoint any members but if you do not book in on time, you run that risk.
If for any reason you cannot attend after booking in could you please cancel at least 24 hours before the rally is due to take place as it may be possible to offer the place to somebody else.
Turnout:
Ponies should be clean and tidy with well pulled manes or plaited. Tack should be well fitting and in good repair.
Riders should wear cream jodhpurs, Pony Club polo shirt and Pony Club sweatshirt.
Pony Club clothing can be purchased from Yvonne Keogh. Photos of correct pony club attire is posted on our website.
Riders’ musts wear an approved back protector and helmet.
For all Pony Club activities it is essential that one has an approved back protector, helmet and for cross country rallies stocks are required. For championship competitions helmets need to be tagged to prove that they are approved. There will be plenty of opportunities to get a helmet tagged throughout the year.

Our first rally will be held on the 19th February in Carlanstown. Booking for this will open on the 19th January.
PARENTS
Parents please note it is pony club policy that parents must keep well clear of all riders when under instruction, similar to children going into classrooms it will not be necessary to accompany them.
Members will be under the care of qualified instructors at all times so please do not be offended if asked to step back from a ride. Flash photography around horses is not permitted.
